Porn
PORN, it's a word that means many things to many people, as such, it has been debated at length on the internet, through research articles, and amongst friends. Some people like it, some do not, many wish to see it removed from the internet permanently. But, what does it represent? It in many ways it represents Freedom of Speech, but more than this; it represents a freedom of choice.
Is it Art or is it Porn?.
There are certain groups in society that believe Pornography is a dangerous thing, that it must be eradicated from our society. Their main concerns are that it will destroy families, erode morality, and corrupt the young. Many religious groups believe that it should be regulated for the benefit of everyone. Personally, I have major problems when certain groups of people believe they have to right to decide what is or is not appropriate for people to view. What you may see as pornographic, somebody else may see artistic. It's all a matter of taste; a matter of choice.
Who am I to question you or your personal taste? Least we forget, sexuality is a normal expression of our daily lives and comes in many flavours. Perhaps I prefer my sexuality to be 'vanilla', whilst your desire for the more exotic flavour just means we have differing tastes. There are many parents who despair at the thought of their children viewing pornography. It's a concern that I can understand and agree completely with. However, it is also the parents responsibility to monitor their children whilst they are online. To ensure that they have the appropriate software to filter out any sites they do not wish their children to view. We all need to be responsible adults, to educate when necessary and to ensure that we do have the choices to make in the first place.
The internet may be awash with pornographic material, some of it represents a nastier side to life that I personally do not wish to see. ever. That is the choice I make and hope that you, as a responsible adult, make similar choices in your own lives. With that in mind, enjoy!
